    Sec 18. Pre-Auth

    The Pre-Auth function allows merchants to pre-authorise a temporary hold of a certain amount in the cardholder’s account, which ensures that the amount is available for a future transaction.

    This is particularly useful in scenarios where the final transaction amount may not be known initially.

    • On the Transaction List page, select
      Pre-Auth to initiate the transaction.

    Pre-Auth

    • Enter desired Pre-Auth amount. For a $100.00 pre-authorisation, enter the amount, then click $100.00 OK.

    The Payment Application supports various payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, Union Pay, American Express, JCB and others.

    • PRESENT/INSERT OR SWIPE CARD to make a Pre-Auth.
    • The Account Type page is displayed. Select Account Type by clicking CHEQUE, SAVINGS or CREDIT.
    • After selecting the Account Type, the system will notify the merchant to remove their card from the device.
    • The terminal will require a signature, which the merchant confirms if the signature is correct. Press YES to confirm. Otherwise, press NO
    • When the transaction is approved, the receipt will be displayed on the screen. To print a copy of the receipt, select PRINT RECEIPT. Otherwise, press NO RECEIPT REQUIRED.
    • After completing all steps necessary to make the payment, the system will return to the Transaction List page.
